Resumo

Objetivo – O estudo busca identificar as configurações de governança adotadas em relacionamentos entre comprador–fornecedor (RCF) que geram elevados níveis de ganhos relacionais financeiros e de conhecimento.

Referencial Teórico – A pesquisa segue a classificação de mecanismos de governança formais e informais proposta por Cislaghi et al. (2022).

Metodologia – Utiliza-se a Análise Qualitativa Comparativa de Conjuntos Crisp (csQCA) para examinar dados de 181 fornecedores do setor de alimentos e bebidas no Brasil. A análise considerou 10 mecanismos formais e 14 mecanismos informais de governança.

Resultados – Identificam-se três configurações de governança que geram altos ganhos de conhecimento e duas que produzem altos ganhos financeiros para os fornecedores. Os resultados ressaltam a importância da coordenação contratual e da boa reputação como mecanismos críticos em todas as configurações. Ademais, destacam-se os papéis da confiança, do compartilhamento de informações e de outros mecanismos informais na geração de ganhos relacionais.

Implicações Práticas e Sociais da Pesquisa – Contribuímos à literatura ao mostrar que múltiplas configurações de mecanismos de governança produzem níveis superiores de ganhos relacionais para os fornecedores. Pesquisas futuras devem considerar ambos os lados do relacionamento para uma compreensão abrangente das configurações de governança e de seus impactos sobre os ganhos relacionais.

Contribuições – Este é um dos poucos estudos que adotam uma abordagem configuracional para identificar quais mecanismos de governança fomentam ganhos relacionais em RCF. O artigo supre a necessidade identificada de considerar mecanismos específicos formais e informais, uma vez que podem ser combinados para produzir ganhos de conhecimento e financeiros. Além disso, demonstra que RCF dependem fortemente de um amplo repertório de mecanismos informais para fomentar ganhos relacionais.
