Resumo
Objetivo – Embora as práticas virtuosas potencializem a excelência
organizacional, a virtude e a cultura da humildade são pouco estudadas no campo
da gestão devido aos seus desafios conceituais. Para cobrir esta lacuna, e
considerando que a virtude da humildade evolui como um valor cultural de forma
crescente, este estudo propõe uma tipologia de maturidade da cultura da
humildade (THCM) que sinaliza um caminho progressivo desta virtude como um
valor organizacional.
Referencial Teórico – Este estudo teórico-exploratório é derivado dos modelos
de cultura organizacional de Schein (2010), das concepções de Galbraith (1983),
do modelo de humildade organizacional de Maldonado et al. (2018), e do modelo
de humildade individual de Owens et al. (2013; 2015).
Metodologia – O desenho da tipologia é baseado nos procedimentos de
configuração de modelos de maturidade cultural, como os de Parker (2006) e
Rocha et al. (2023).
Resultados – A combinação destas teorias permite sugerir um continuum de 5
estágios de maturidade da cultura: retórico, embrionário, estimulado, pleno e
virtuoso, com cada estágio refletindo respectivamente regimes comportamentais
diferentes, progredindo de despreocupado, reativo, obrigatório, voluntário para
inconsciente, onde as práticas de humildade são conduzidas de forma orgânica e
internalizadas em ações virtuosas, numa demonstração de maturidade cultural.
Implicações Práticas e Sociais da Pesquisa – O estudo amplia a compreensão
da cultura da humildade, tornando sua análise mais útil, uma vez que indica
descrições e comportamentos específicos de humildade relacionados a cada
estágio da progressão cultural rumo à maturidade. Este estudo teórico torna o
exame da humildade nas organizações mais utilitário, abrindo espaço para ampliar
o desenho e teste empírico tanto de modelos funcionais da cultura organizacional
quanto de modelos de maturidade cultural da humildade, uma carência
instrumental na literatura e tão caros à excelência organizacional.
Contribuições – A THCM representa uma proposta original que preenche uma
lacuna na literatura de estudos de gestão dedicados à humildade organizacional e
à maturidade da cultura da humildade.
